Augmented Reality for Operations

Using AR in factory operations improves efficiency by delivering step-by-step visual work instructions directly in the operator’s field of view, reducing errors and training time. It enables faster onboarding, real-time guidance for complex tasks supported by IOT sensor data and maintenance history, and better knowledge retention, all while minimizing reliance on paper manuals or expert supervision.

3D Printer Overview

Users can walk through basic functionality of a 3D printer, learning parts and subassemblies, seeing IOT data on nozzle and bed temperature, and following a step by step work instruction to learn how to inspect a blocked nozzle.

Detailed Grinder Overview

New hires could use this experience to remotely get up to speed on its operations without the need to stop the assembly line to train them. They could learn all the parts and functions of the machine, see inside, and experience various operations without endangering themselves, the equipment, or the product.

This video shows multiple operations experiences, designed to help plan and run a factory. These include:

  • A tabletop “smart factory” with IOT data and section descriptions displayed in AR

  • A future factory assembly line layout in the space it will be installed

  • A table top factory layout planning experience showing different options and animated line flow

  • IOT sensor information displayed in context above the machines to allow for glanceable inspections
